It's time to write!

It's literally amazing to me how i think back to those years where i didn't write anything and felt awful about it because now it's such a frequent, quotidian part of my life. I think what solved basically the entirety of my writing issue was a big personality shift. It actually changed my entire life. I get up early, i have structure, i don't mind hard work, i'm not a social idiot and i am calm. So today, i thought i'd write about that little talk i did just two days ago.

It went awesome i feel. I actually think it was one of the coolest experiences that i've had. Being able to speak to 90 people at one time, i don't think this opportunity will ever cross me again. I enjoyed it so much because i have so many ideas and even though less feelings these days, still enough to go up there and just talk about them. I felt like i belonged there or something, that sounds SO conceited but it's true. There's still a part of me that wants to rule the world!! It was so easy talking about Criterion because it's an extension of who i am. It was born out of some really sincere parts of myself as a person. At heart, Criterion is just basically my desire to connect and to engage with the sincere parts of creative people. To hear their dreams, ideas, complaints and insights into creativity and what drives them. This is what i told the writing students, i hope they found something within that that relates to them. It was just so great/amazing having one of your favorite writers in the crowd listening to you as well. Surprisingly enough, i didn't get intimidated having Kevin in the crowd. I have heaps of respect for his writing, it really resonates with me the way he writes and how he writes. He actually is one of the best writers i've come across in my life. The entire thing went really fast. The last part was my favorite, question time. I love being asked questions ( That i can answer ). There's nothing more powerful and arresting than a person who can answer questions sassily and succinctly. I love people who can do that and i want to be able to do it as well more and more in the future.

Afterwards, my friend Annabelle and i did some fun things together like we always do. We went on the tourist shuttle bus like we've always wanted to then had lunch at my favorite Japanese restaurant. Then, we went to vic market in pursuit of rings for my new growing ring collection. We managed to find one place in the end after many hours of searching. It's so hard when you want something in particular. Today, i've got work at Obus and then i'm off to a friends opening at my old house. Should be a great night. Have a good weekend :-)
