I've been having heaps of fun socially recently. Never under estimate a good hang out with your friends. It never sounds like much but through getting together, you uncover a lot of stuff. Things that will happen, are about to, have happened, things that were said, weren't said, wished were said not to mention the barrage of feelings you all have over such goings on. I love finding out about what people are thinking about, what new areas they are about to venture into and what the general consensus is about the current state of affairs. Through talking like this, that is how we come to establish bonds and a sense of what it all ' is ' in life.
You guys know how much i'm obsessed with traveling, much like any other girl my age. The thing that I ( and i think most others? ) like about traveling, is the complete novelty of new places. I think i've done Melbourne through and through and can probably confidently say that i've been to everywhere that's worth going to in this city. Of course, new places are always popping up so i guess that list is always expanding. The thing about home is that we can get very tired of it. We look at the windows of travel agencies and really do start to believe that all the 'best' fun is on the other side of the world. I do believe it is true to an extent but in the meantime, what the hell are we going to do to make life bearable here?
When you've done all the streets, alleys, corners, roads and avenues of Melbourne you turn to your friends for the novelty and the fun. There's no way you can find something that's brand new to do in a city of our size ( Melbournians ). I think we really have to create our fun with our friends. We have everything here in Melbourne, but the 'everything' is in such a small space that we've done it too many times to count. The thing I love about my friends is that they are my sources of inspiration for writing as well as social peepholes into what's really going on between one another. People are fascinating in how they are so good at making their own 'trouble'. It doesn't always have to be trouble but we really are proficient self generators of events. Our friends might also become victim to our ennui and boredom but the fact that they are individuals with lives beyond their friendships also means that there are always new things to talk about. Because they are involved with me, their lives affect mine too. So here's to all my mates! Keep those stories coming.
