Big Photos / Scarlett Arrives

My time so far has FLOWN. At the end of this week, i'll be starting my new job. I'm curious to know what it'll be like as my job shapes my world. I'm eating Creme Brulee Kit Kats at the moment and thinking about tomorrow. My friend Scarlett has finally arrived here in Japan and we're beginning our ' new life ' together. We hung out yesterday and drunk Sake in her apartment whilst watching Mad men dubbed in Japanese. It was a really nice night. Before we did that, we hung out by the Tama river and watched these kids send out fireworks into the air. They would've gotten into a lot of trouble if they tried to do that back home.

We've been trying to find a place we can get a hair cut but have either been too intimidated to go in because of our limited Japanese skills or have felt that the prices have been ' chou takai '. Getting a hair cut in Tokyo is really expensive but we're both very keen on getting a couple centimeters off.  Still not missing home at all. Not one bit. My mum is in China at the moment so my dad's at home all alone. I think he's been wanting some alone time for a while and to have the women off his back. With my mum in China and me here, the house i'd imagine, would be very empty and quiet. Of course, i'm getting more and more used to my life here in Tokyo. It's nothing like how i thought it'd be, but to be honest anything is better than being back at home. I'm glad that i am here and my work in getting back to Tokyo has paid off. We visited Shimokitazawa today. I love that place. Besides Koenji, I think it's got to be one of my favorite hang outs here. I tried on an Isabel Marant dress at Ragtag but halted at purchasing because i'm trying to budget and be more money wise. It was a beautiful dress though. After that, we stumbled upon this AWESOME shop that was selling all these really nice clothes for suspiciously cheap prices. I have to find out the name of that shop so i can go back.

The language barrier is KILLING me. Not being able to express oneself is so hard so after this, i'm gonna have a Marlboro and then begin my Japanese study for the night. Scarlett and I are really determined to get the language thing down pat as soon as possible so we can actually go out and not feel silly not being able to say stuff. I don't like speaking English to the people around here because i feel like i'm being rude. I literally feel embarrassed when i can't speak Japanese and i'm sick of feeling like that so studying the language is really important to me. That's about all for today.

Enjoy the photos and have a good night!
