I haven't been updating with photos because of my laptop. Right now, i'm typing this entry out at work and keeping an eye out on the time before my next client comes. I need a new laptop! My trusty white Macbook has served me well for the last five years. That's right, I've had a laptop for that amount of time. I guess i've had a lot of wear out of it because i really don't demand that much from it. All i ever use it for is web browsing and writing stuff on Microsoft word. I'm thinking about making a trip to the Apple store next Thursday and having a check out of the latest Macbook pro's. I'll be sad to move onto a new laptop because my other one has been so dependable and trustworthy but the mouse is broken. I kind of hate the mouse to be honest. If the mouse weren't acting up, the entire laptop would be OK.
In other news, my first pay cheque is coming up this month and i am SO excited. It's only for four days of work but this really marks my first official month as a proper person in Tokyo. I'm not saying that getting paid validates you as a real person BUT i kind of am as well. That's when you know you're a contributing member of society. When you get paid for whatever service you are offering to the city. I've been doing nothing but working all the time to be honest. But you know what? I don't really mind. I came to this city to start the life i want and working is a
huge part of that. I am a big believer in enjoying your work and not waking up hating the idea of having to go to work and i've got that now. Plus everybody at my office is friendly and outgoing so I feel like i do a lot of socializing at work. My new housemate moved in about two days ago and the house is really getting ' lived ' in. I feel lucky because both my workplace and my home are filled with easy going people who are really pleasant to be around. Other than working and hanging out with my roomies and work mates, i've been studying Japanese. The more engaged i am with it, the faster my progress will be. I feel like i'm slowly getting it. If i keep persisting, i can only improve and get better. Things are making more sense to me and i'm finally beginning to feel more confident. Baby steps! I'm thinking about moving into the bedroom that's next to mine. It's only $20 more than my current rent and a lot nicer. It's got way more potential to be a better looking room than the one i'm living in now but i'm still trying to get a feel of what i want. I know 20 dollars isn't really that much extra but it's still money and being an expat here means that I've got to consider every single monetary decision with a fine toothed comb. Life is really good here. I know that there's so much more to be ' had ' here. Until next time! Thanks for reading. xx
