Right now, i'm looking out at the sky and remembering that this is where we are :
Sometimes, i even imagine sitting on the moon and staring at the earth, seeing it like how it does in this photo above. I haven't been in this headspace for AGES. Life becomes more and more mundane as you grow up and i'd also go so far as to say that when you're life is busy, you forget about all the details and the mysteries that kind of makes life strange and kind of amazing. I know eventually that i'll get out of this frame of mind, but right now i'm totally enjoying it.
There's this amazing moment in one of the videos where from the very edge of outerspace ( that is in our present understanding ), the camera zooms really quickly back to earth again and then zooms into this droplet of water on a leaf and you see all the atoms buzzing around within it. I don't know how many of you will watch this but i guarantee it puts everything into the most intense perspective :
At night when things are all still and quiet, i think about Earth again. This time, i think about how the other side of the world is just beginning their day and the sorts of lives that other people are living and what their problems and dreams are. I also think about how planet earth is hanging in the universe and the universe is so big that ultimately, i don't matter at all. I like thinking about the Voyager 1 as well and the fact that it's got a gold record attached to it that has recordings of Earth related sounds and utterances and also i think images of things like supermarkets and sausages and families and stuff. I kind of hope that someone or something manages to see those images and to hear those sounds and for them to know that there are people/beings/creatures out there in the world that live and breathe and are alive.
But BACK DOWN TO EARTH ( haha ), Dad installed a new shelving unit in my room. I really like it! It makes my room feel different and I like the organised vibe of it. I'm more about organization than ornamentation these days and this is a good step towards that.
