How Much Do You Choose to Reveal ?

I wish that i had more balls to reveal more in my writing. Not here but in the writing that i do for other things like the publications that i write for. I think i open up a lot here because it's easy. I don't know who reads my blog and that makes it seem like i'm sort of writing to no one ( and everyone ) at the same time. The thing about me, is that everything that i write comes from my own life. Sometimes, those things are really hard to admit or to tell other people about. But in order to write that piece, it's necessary to include that bit of information. I have this problem where i feel like the best things that i produce are also the most personal. It's a really annoying problem because you want the credit but you don't want to put yourself up to be vulnerable.

Vulnerability is something that i've found interesting for my whole life. It's like giving up all you've got for a moment and standing in front of a crowd naked. They can start clapping or they can start hacking tomatos at you. I've chosen to make myself vulnerable a lot in my life, but recently i just don't have any desire to anymore.

I think it's more of a problem for writers, this issue of vulnerability because we tell things literally. We say explicit things that are clear and understandable by most people. Moreover, these things can be specific. I think that if i were a painter or a film maker, i'd be able to reveal a lot of myself too but i can do it in a really abstract and indirect way. How do you do that if you're a writer unless you write poetry? ( Which i really don't like )

I have never liked vague writing because i like getting to the point of things. I like it when people just lay it all on the table and are like, " Yeah that's what happened so whatever ". When you read that sort of thing, there's nothing you can say because they've basically said it all.

Ps. I was invited by the makers of this collective from the U.S to participate in their project.
