CRIBS !

I was watching Cribs yesterday. Do you guys remember that really awesome show in the 90's on MTV about famous peoples homes? Well, i was watching it and really enjoying it last night but what got my attention more than my enjoyment of being let into their private homes is how ' personalized ' their homes are. Mariah Carey has a whole wardrobe simply devoted to lingerie and Missy Elliot and Fifty Cent both have board rooms in their homes where they hold meetings and stuff. They really tailor their homes to suit everything that is required of them in their lives. It must be so nice to walk into your own home and feel like you never have to leave or never want to because everything you need is at home. Or to feel really ' at home ' at your own home because parts of you are everywhere. Like Boy Georges home. He had trinkets sprinkled all over the place. Things from his career, different awards, pictures of him drawn by his famous friends.

I love an idea of having a wall full of framed pictures of things and people that have influenced me and my life. It's something that i can only do if i have my own home though. This is the thing about being able to own your own home. You get to do whatever you want to it. It sort of inspired me to kind of ' cribsify ' my own room. At the moment, it's OK but that's literally it. I want it to be more personalized than it is at the moment which isn't really personalized at all. The only thing is, it's hard working with small spaces because one, you don't have a lot of space. And two, that space if used incorrectly can make the space feel cramped and crowded. I came across this photo on Tumblr of this amazing studio apartment :

Urgggnnn

This is so perfect. The window is amazing, the living room space, the ladder to the bed above. But i don't quite believe that this is a real apartment. It looks like a film set or something. Whatever it is, real or fake i want it! I don't know how i'm going to make my room more personalized but i think it's time for it to happen. I've been through a long enough phase of minimalism and now i'm a little bit into maximizing it a bit more. I'll post some photos up when i spruce up the joint!
