The Big New York Entry

I keep saying every single place is my favorite but Tom's restaurant is ACTUALLY my favorite place i went to in NY. Not only do i love Seinfeld, but i love Diner culture. I ordered a big strawberry sundae and two cups of black coffee here whilst i delved into my latest Bellow novel. Whilst sitting at the bar here, this really new yorker guy came in and ordered this huge sandwich, a black coffee and read the financial times. It was like out of a movie!
My wish came true, i did NOT see any celebrities whilst i was in NY. Imagine having to keep a straight face if you saw someone famous. I'm from Melbourne where the biggest star is someone from the AFL. I don't wanna lose my cool if i saw a celebrity. However, having said that i enjoyed seeing all these stars portraits at this Cobbler near Times sq.

One thing i'll definitely miss about the states is that it's a shoppers paradise. Imagine, all the stuff you love in every edition, size, color and model. There was an entire aisle at the Target i went to in Brooklyn completely dedicated to Nail polish alone! The inventory in Australia simply doesn't compare. To top it all off, the candy is cheap and plentiful too ( A jumbo pack of junior mints is 99c )
I was lucky to  be seated next to good people on the way there and back. I helped this man write a letter to this girl he was in love with on the way to the states.

Me at the East Village. The amount of people, culture and history that dominates New York is amazing. I kept on walking past streets and finding out later that they were famous. For example, the subway grating for Marilyn Monroe's famous up skirt scene where she's wearing the big white dress and it blows up was 4 minutes from my hotel. I also walked past Andy Warhol's factory five times without even knowing.
Times square aka Tourist city. Wasn't a big fan of this place but the five storey Forever 21 was great!!
American Museum of Natural History was top on my itinerary to do list. Gotta say, as cool as it was it didn't really live up to my expectations. The crystal room was good and i loved the life size blue whale model but having said that, i was a touch disappointed.

There are writers and artists who are still living in the hotel  Chelsea as esteemed guests today. You gotta be someone really spesh to be able to live here. In fact, i think you have to be invited. I didn't get to go inside ( I'm not sure they even allow visitors here even though they would make so much money if they had a museum showcasing the history of the place ) but i had to visit it just to say that i've seen it in person.

Better than MoMa by a long shot. It was a pity you weren't allowed to take photos inside. It was actually breathtakingly beautiful.

I had the best view of Midtown from my hotel rooftop.
Pretty self explanatory ;-)
