Things I've Learnt This Year

I'm a person that needs to be stimulated as much as possible. I stagnate when i stay in one place for too long and i need to travel as often as i can to refresh and recharge my mental health and general attitude towards living. I plan to travel yearly, which means i can't spend nearly as much as i do but i'm prepared for that sacrifice. I feel like Melbourne is too small for me and I have such a thirst to explore, explore, explore

Life is REALLY hard. But you have to just shut up and keep going. This means continuing writing even if i feel like i'm going nowhere, pushing myself, hustling my work and having hope and persistence. If I don't persist, i've lost. If i keep going, then eventually I'll come to a breakthrough point. Everyone starts off having doors slammed in their face in a world of No. But without persistence, I'll never get to that world of Yes.

Waking up early and going to bed early is conducive to a healthy mind. I could never go back to sleeping past 10. Even if I'm someone who has lots of spare time, i can be using that time to do things which i enjoy. Like reading, writing and drawing. I find that the earlier i rise, the better i feel. It's strange, how can rising early have such a deep impact on my attitude, self esteem and general positivity? It trumps me, but it works.

There really is nobody you can depend on in life besides yourself, so I better be my best friend ( i know that sounds so cheesey but dude, it's true ) I'm a massive advocate of being able to live life alone. I'm not saying tell everyone to fuck off but i'm saying have some kind of peace with yourself. Even if it means saying No to people. After all, you have to live with yourself 24/7 so you better make a nice home of yourself, you know?

There are some people who will always have better things and better shots at life than you do, but if you can deal with that reality and be OK with it, then nothing can really get you down. Comparing yourself to others will always be a bit of a challenge but it's something that once you nail, you nail for life

Before you have the luxury of deciding what you want to do, you have to do whatever is out there that is available to you. I'm talking jobs, offers, opportunities etc. In fact, be thankful for ANY opportunity as they are actually rare, very sought after and seldom available in the hustle and bustle of our competitive reality. If you don't take that offer or opportunity, i can guarantee you that there are five other people lining up to take it as soon as you even think about declining

Cooking your own meals feels really good. Almost as good as buying new clothes. On top of that, it's more affordable, healthier and creates discipline. There's nothing quite like eating something that you've made from scratch and enjoying it. It's more fulfilling than buying something and that's the HONEST truth
