First night in Tokyo
Boy, oh boy have i not blogged in yonks. Making no apologies for it even though i feel bad about it. Life got weird ( as it always does ) and it fell out of my priorities list. But now that i'm overseas and on yet another " Find a way to get your life together " journey, i thought it was high time that i started writing again. I went to New York last time and this time i am in Tokyo. In fact, i'm pretty much
fresh off the plane still. I made it into the city with the little Japanese that i knew ( and really didn't want to use ) and i'm relieved to be here because i was so scared that i was going to be stranded somewhere in the middle of the night seeing as my plane landed pretty late. I find myself going on these trips for the past two years of my life as somewhat of a necessity. I think i'm so bored with my life back in Melbourne that seeking novelty and enjoyment elsewhere is the only solution. Because i've seen Melbourne, i've done it all. There's nothing there i haven't seen, been to or heard of at least and it's boring me. And i think this is the same for all the people my age that i know. We've really lived that city through and through. I am always so thirsty for new sights to see and new cities to explore and after my New york trip, I feel like i know the ropes on how to travel alone. I can deal with Tokyo despite the language difference.
I'm here to work out more issues i've got to work out. Namely, what i'm gonna do to make life better when i'm back home. What i'm going to change in my thinking to make things easier for me. Nothings been working out and although i'm getting more used to it, there's still a resistance inside of me to make things right no matter how much brute force i have to exert. I'm also here to write Life insurance. I wrote quite a bit on the plane already and i feel like i always seem to concentrate 100% better when i'm not working at home. The further away, the better the work.
I was getting pretty crazy on the plane. I've already made a silent promise in my head that i'll do whatever i can in the future to not fly in economy ever again. I might not be able to afford first or business but at least premium economy? If your trip is going to be 12 hours or more, then you deserve the extra splurge and the extra leg room. Right now i'm thinking about going over to the " Sebbun Elebbun " to get some marlboros and light up because that seems to always be the first thing i want to do when i land in a foreign city. Tomorrow, i plan to explore the Shinjuku area. I'll be blogging pretty often so you can expect more from me! There'll be lots of words and photos to come.
Kunbunwa!
