I need you

At work yesterday, a thought occured to me. It's something i've always known but really only got a proper grasp on in that instant. I need to write on this blog because nowhere else will publish what i really want to say. I think people place too much value on individualism. It's a good thing, for sure but when you grow up and enter into the real world you find out just how marginalizing it is. It's hard to find a job, to find a publisher, to find a special someone if you're just too different.

If you're too different, if what you've got to say is too confronting, nobody wants to hear about it. You have to FIT IN in order to be a part of the world. Otherwise, you're just standing on the outside looking in. Before you make it in any industry you're just trying hard to get noticed. I mean, i feel like i've been lucky with my track record of publications and things i've been published in but it's only dawning on me that there are things i want to write that can't be published anywhere. It's too much about me. This is where this blog comes in. I can have ultimate freedom to write whatever i want. I feel like my best work is honestly on here. The things that i don't even bother sending to editors because they'll just be like " Ummm ". So here's to being open on here again. I finally feel like i'm getting reacquainted with this thing called my blog. Expect a lot of bombshells, confessions and open book moments in the months to come.
